Diary
SolarWorld Gran Turismo (SolarWorld GT) is a brand new developed sun-racer of the SolarCar-Team of the Bochum University of Applied Sciences. Since two years ago, about 30 students of this University have been working hard on the street-legal solar car to eventually live up to its name. The team had an ambitious goal: Circumnavigate the world in an autarkic driven solar car. This technology is powered by renewable energy and used as an ambassador for sustainable mobility.
The starting pistol will be fired in World Solar Challenge (WSC) 2011 on October 16 in Darwin, Australia. 42 Teams from 21 Nations will be competing in this exciting event. This would be the largest amount of participants in the history of the race.
