Semantic Web - Technologien zur inhaltsrelevante Bildersuche
Meine Diplomarbeit habe ich zum Thema "Semantic Web - Technologien zur inhaltsrelevante Bildersuche" geschrieben.
Diese widmet sich den im Semantic Web verwendeten Techniken, wie XML Schema, RDF und Ontologien. Weiter wird der sprachwissenschaftliche (linguistische) Hintergrund beleuchtet. Kern der Arbeit bildet Visual Search, eine von mir entwickelte semantische und visuelle Bildersuchmaschine vorgestellt, die es ermöglicht signifikant bessere Suchergebnisse zu generieren als es bisher mit schlagwortbasierten Suchen möglich war.
Abstract:
"Information retrieval in the World Wide Web is still a serious problem, because text based search engines, like Google or Altavista don´t deliver the expected results. The main reason is, that they can´t associate between homonyms and synonyms and information which are distributed over more than one webpage can´t merged together. Also most information represented on the web are rendered for human beings. Computers can´t extract relevant information out of it. The Semantic Web, an initiative by Tim Berners-Lee is working on a solution. His vision of connected and associated information is the main goal of this initiative. For reaching the goal theW3C developed several supporting technics, like RDF, XML and OWL. This thesis describes how the Semantic Web works, which technics are used for realizing it. Visual Search, a visual, semantic based search engine developed by the author will be introduced, showing how the Semantic Web can be realized in a web service environment."
