Our university is making digitalisation the focus of its strategic planning. To this end, the Presidential Board is founding the Central Academic Institute for Digital Transformation and E-Learning, known as DigiTeach for short. Prof. Roland Böttcher from the Department of Economics was appointed Institute Director, represented by Professors Thomas Eder (Department of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics), and Carsten Köhn (Department of Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science).

The institute sees itself as a research and service institution that promotes and supports the process of digitalisation in teaching at Bochum University of Applied Sciences. In addition to all technical and didactic aspects of teaching and learning systems, such as Moodle, the support and advisory services also include support in the area of media production and the establishment of digital examination formats.

The staff want to deal with new teaching and learning formats through research and examine both qualitative and quantitative effects of digitalisation.
