Resources & Sustainability
Taking an interdisciplinary approach, this main research area centres on sustainability sciences and resource use and management, such as water and energy. It addresses security of supply, resilience and circular value creation for a sustainable future.
This main research area at Bochum University of Applied Sciences concentrates on the sustainable use and management of resources, particularly water and energy, as well as sustainability sciences in general. Among other things, it addresses topics such as sustainable energy solutions, resource-efficient construction, the mobility transition, security of supply, resilience to environmental change and circular value creation for a sustainable future.
In this research area, researchers pursue an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approach with a focus on sustainable innovations and business models for the responsible and efficient use of resources. A particular concern of researchers in this focus area is to develop practical solutions and identify sustainable transformation paths, and to implement these together with local, regional and international partners.
