Arriving by car
The fastest way to reach the university is via the A43, exit “Bochum Querenburg/Ruhr-Universität.” From there, take Universitätsstraße toward the city center/university.
Coming from Bochum city center, take Universitätsstraße, which begins at the main train station, towards “Ruhr-Universität.”
From Universitätsstraße, take the Uni-Ost / Fachhochschule exit. You will find a large parking lot on your left.
Arriving by public transportation
Bochum and the surrounding region are connected by an extensive public transport network of buses, trams (Straßenbahn), U‑Bahn (subway) and S‑Bahn trains — all operated within the Verkehrsverbund Rhein‑Ruhr (VRR).
The best way to reach the central campus of Bochum University of Applied Sciences from Bochum city centre is to take the subway (U-Bahn) - Campus line U35, direction Hustadt. Get off the station “Lennershof” and, when you reach the upper elevator level, turn left. From there, it is a 5-10-minute walk to campus.
Tickets for public transportation
The Bochum University of Applied Sciences is glad to provide each participant with a 4er Ticket (4 trips ticket), which you can use for four one-way trips by any public transportation in Bochum (subway, bus, tram etc.) You will receive the ticket at the first welcome event on the campus.
In case you will need more trips, you can buy occasional tickets such as:
- Use via the eezy.nrw app (check in at the start of your journey, check out at the end)
- The fare is calculated based on the distance travelled
- A daily price cap applies automatically only on days when you check in and travel
- A ticket for one journey until the desired stop
- Any change between local transport services is included, not valid for return journeys and round trips
- Price fare A (Preisstufe A) is sufficient for traveling in Bochum. Each ticket is valid for 90 Minutes after validation
- Buy in VRR Appor DB Navigator app, in customer centres,in the ticket machines at stations & stops, in some busses and trams
- A ticket for four single journeys
