Language Courses

German courses are offered at the BO Akademie. The dates are announced on the academy's website at the beginning of each semester.

English, Spanish, and sign language courses can also be taken as part of the Studium Plus program.

BO Akademie

Students at Bochum University of Applied Sciences have the opportunity to register free of charge for language courses at the Center for Foreign Language Training (ZFA) at RUB. Participation in a language course at the ZFA is only possible for languages that we do not offer at Bochum University of Applied Sciences.

The International Office at Ruhr University Bochum hosts a weekly language café. International and local students meet in a relaxed atmosphere for cultural exchange and informal conversation. Everyone is welcome—just drop by and join in!

Online course “Welcome to Studying in Germany”:

• Interactive learning in groups: Participants learn in small groups with other international students. This promotes exchange and enables new contacts to be made even before the start of the course.
• Personal support: A trained tutor accompanies the learners, supports the learning process, answers questions, and moderates the exchange within the group.
• Comprehensive knowledge: The course covers all the important information that international students need for a successful start in Germany. Topics such as semester planning, learning organization, cultural and linguistic characteristics, and much more are covered in detail.
• Flexibility: The course is online-based. Participants can access it conveniently from anywhere. This allows for optimal adaptation to individual schedules.
