GH2GH Consortium Meeting with Industrial Partners

GH2GH Consortium Meeting with Industrial Partners
On the 14th and 15th January 2026 the GH2GH project consortium held a technical and coordination meeting hosted by SFC Energy AG and Ostermeier H2ydrogen Solutions GmbH in Munich region. It was an opportunity to discuss project progress, address technical challenges, and align resources on the next implementation steps in the last phase of the project.
Key Highlights
The meeting focused on both strategic coordination and hands-on technical exchange, with particular emphasis on:
- In-depth discussions on electrolyzer stack operation, monitoring, and efficiency optimization
- Exchange on fuel cell operating and maintenance strategies
- Air circulation improvements and water treatment concepts
- Coordination on training and capacity-building activities
- Strategic discussions on logistics, customs clearance, and on-site operational readiness in Ghana
Technical Tour
A key highlight of the meeting was a technical tour of the production and assembly facilities of both the electrolyzers and fuel cell systems. Consortium members gained first-hand insights into manufacturing processes, quality control procedures, and system integration steps, strengthening the shared technical understanding across partners and supporting more effective operation and maintenance of the systems in Ghana, and future cooperative endeavours.
Key Consortium Partners
- Bochum University of Applied Sciences – Project coordination
- SFC Energy AG - Industrial partner focusing on methanol and hydrogen fuel cell systems
- Green Power Brains - System integration and implementation partner with focus on PV and control systems
- Don Bosco Solar - Training and local capacity-building partner
- Ostermeier H2ydrogen Solutions GmbH – System integrator of the hydrogen electrolyser and gas storage system
The meeting highlighted the strong collaboration across industry, academia, and implementation partners, reinforcing GH2GH’s mission to enable sustainable, modular hydrogen solutions and support local capacity building in Ghana.
The project "GH2GH – Green Hydrogen for Decentralized Energy Systems in Sub-Saharan Africa" (FKZ: 67EXI6503A-C) is funded by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV) (Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection) as part of the "Export Initiative for Environmental Protection" (EXI). As the project management agency of the EXI, Zukunft – Umwelt – Gesellschaft (ZUG) gGmbH supports the Federal Environment Ministry in the performance of its tasks. As a project of the thematic focus "green hydrogen and fuel cell technologies for decentralised energy supply" within the Export Initiative for Environmental Protection, NOW GmbH accompanies the content of the GH2GH project in its function as a programme company.
