On May 15th and 16th, the final meeting of the collaborative research project "air-Kon-Matrizen" took place at the project partner Unidome in Eltville. The project aimed to explore the production of lightweight foundations through the arrangement of inflatable, shape-optimized void formers.
The interdisciplinary consortium included the following partners:
- fischwerke GmbH & Co. KG
- Unidome Deutschland GmbH
- Bochum University of Applied Sciences – Institute of Concrete Structures
- Ruhr University Bochum – Institute of Concrete Structures
- RWTH Aachen – ICoM – Institute for Construction Management, Digital Engineering and Robotics in Construction
The interdisciplinary collaboration enabled a comprehensive examination of the construction method — from load-bearing capacity analyses and optimization calculations to manufacturing and practical construction implementation, as well as digital data acquisition and (semi-)automated fabrication.
We thank all project partners for their constructive cooperation and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) for funding within the framework of the “Lightweight Technology Transfer Program (TTP LB).”
