Mohammd Tanvir Haque Tuhin is currently on a research visit in Norway as part of the KÖNIG project.
Tuhin is working in collaboration with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology(NTNU) andbased at Multiconsult in Oslo. The main focus of his research visit is ADCP-based sediment transport monitoring and uncertainty analysis.
One important limitation of Tuhin's previous work was that the sediment-transport target was mainly derived from ADCP measurements themselves, without a sufficiently large independent physical sediment dataset. Here, they are working with a much larger established archive covering 8 rivers across 5 countries (Germany, Canada, Albania, Italy, France) including ADCP measurements together with physical sediment/bedload samples. The aim is to investigate uncertainty, transferability between campaigns and rivers, and how ML/DL methods can support sediment-transport analysis.
Tuhin is also working on the data-processing side: decoding native ADCP raw files, developing MATLAB and Python parsers, and building a more reusable processing toolchain so that historical datasets can be analyzed with much less manual work through ADP Viewer.
This is a great opportunity for PhD students to advance their research and grow personally. A big thank you goes to the host and supervisor, Slaven Conevski (Adj. Associate Professor).
