Construction in the digital age demands more from you than just technical expertise: you need to be proficient in modern technologies and able to manage construction projects efficiently. This is precisely where the Digital Construction Management master's degree programme comes in.
The Digital Construction Management master's degree programme offers you a flexible route to further qualification if, as a specialist or manager, you wish to play an active role in shaping the digital transformation of the construction industry – even whilst working full-time.
On the programme, you’ll gain practical experience in using digital tools, applying artificial intelligence in the construction process, and legally sound project management. The three-semester degree programme was developed jointly by Bochum University of Applied Sciences and Carinthia University of Applied Sciences. The degree programme structure combines flexible online learning formats with intensive on-site block weeks – alternating between Bochum and Spittal an der Drau (Carinthia).
The ‘Digital Construction Management’ degree programme is ideal for:

The curriculum is interdisciplinary in nature and combines technical, organisational and economic aspects of digital construction management:
- Building Information Modelling (BIM)

The programme is designed to be studied alongside work and is structured to be completed within a standard period of study of 3 semesters. Face-to-face sessions are combined with online formats and take place in blocks – allowing for flexible planning and offering a strong practical focus.
Semesters 1 + 2
- Online teaching takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4.00 pm and on Fridays from 8.15 am. In exceptional cases, it may also take place on Saturdays.
- One face-to-face week at the start of the semester and one at the end:
- Two in Carinthia (Spittal/Drau)
- Two in Bochum
Semester 3
- In the third semester, you will write your master`s thesis. There are no face-to-face weeks.

A prerequisite for admission to, or continuation of, a master's degree programme in Germany is proof of a first professional qualification (Diplom, Bachelor’s degree) from a state or state-recognised university, on which the master's degree programme is based.
