Support Services – Inclusion Advisory Service

Certain disabilities and/or chronic conditions can affect day-to-day student life.
These may be visible or invisible. They include, for example, chronic physical conditions, dyslexia or dyscalculia, mobility impairments, mental health conditions, neurodivergence, and visual, hearing or speech impairments.
Universities have a duty to ensure equal access to higher education and to compensate for any disadvantages arising from a disability during the course of study. This includes access to degree programmes, access to classrooms, accessibility in teaching, and individual support measures to compensate for disadvantages.
For students and prospective students with disabilities, chronic illnesses and/or neurodivergence, the Inclusion Advisory Service offers individual counselling where required.
The counselling is subject to discretion and we treat your concerns confidentially!

Academic adjustments in examinations are intended to ensure equal opportunities for participation. They are always granted on a case-by-case basis, depending on the individual situation, upon application.
All examination regulations at Bochum University of Applied Sciences include academic adjustments, such as an extension of the examination time.
An application for special arrangements can be submitted each semester until the end of the exam registration period.
Would you like to apply for special arrangements? We’d be happy to advise you!
