Congratulations on your admission! The admission letter contains your enrollment deadline and further instruction. The next step is to complete your enrollment on time and carefully plan your arrival in Germany. Below you will find all the relevant information and guidance you need for a successful start to your studies.
Enrollment Process
Open the enrollment page:
Bochum University of Applied Sciences – Enrollment for International and EU Applicants
Then:
- Log in using your applicant credentials.
- Open your admission notification.
- Start the online enrollment (matriculation) process.
You will generally need:
Identification
- Passport or national ID card
University Entrance Qualification
- Secondary school diploma / high school certificate
- Certified translation (if required)
Language Certificate (if applicable)
Examples:
- TestDaF
- DSH
- telc C1 Hochschule
- Other recognized German language certificates
Previous Academic Records (if applicable)
For Master's applicants:
- Bachelor's degree certificate
- Transcript of Records
If you previously studied in Germany:
- Exmatriculation certificate(s)
- Academic transcripts
Always check your admission letter because additional documents may be required for your specific program.
Inside the portal:
- Review your personal information.
- Enter any missing details.
- Confirm the information provided.
- Submit the online enrollment application.
In the applicant portal:
- Upload all required documents.
- Ensure scans are complete and clearly readable.
- Verify that no required document is missing.

Incomplete documentation may delay or prevent enrollment!
This is a mandatory requirement in Germany.
Your health insurance provider must send an electronic notification directly to the university.
Provide the following university sender number to your insurance company:
H0000683
If you have German statutory health insurance:
- Contact your health insurance provider.
- Ask them to send the electronic student insurance notification to Bochum University of Applied Sciences.
If you have private health insurance:
- Contact a German statutory health insurance provider first.
- They will verify your insurance status and send the required electronic notification.
Enrollment cannot be completed without this insurance confirmation.
Once we have received your request for enrollment, you will receive a notification to pay the semester contribution.

When making the payment:
- Use the reference specified by the university (usually your applicant number or applicant ID).
- Ensure the payment arrives before the enrollment deadline.
The university will review:
- Your uploaded documents
- Health insurance notification
- Semester contribution payment
Once all requirements are fulfilled, your enrollment will be officially completed.
After successful enrollment, you will receive access to university systems and can download:
- Certificate of enrollment (Immatrikulationsbescheinigung)
- Student certificates
- Semester documents
- Germany Ticket information
- Other university services
After enrollment, be sure to check your faculty’s website regularly. It is the best source of information for the start of your studies and will provide important details about orientation and welcome events, introductory sessions, course registration, and the start of lectures.
