Learning objectives

The students will learn academic writing skills. They will be acquainted with the techniques of writing conference papers and scientific papers in general in English. They are able to design posters for international conferences and write penetrative abstracts. Furthermore, they are capable of presenting their ideas and work confidently, both orally and in written form. Additionally, they will have the knowledge and skill to participate in a scientific conference.

Content

  • Linguistic components of effective writing (academic style, trade language, tenses, cohesion)
  • discussion of example conference papers, stages from first draft to an abstract for a poster and to a manuscript for submission,
  • poster design, free speech, scientific in-house conference with
    posters, talks, and scientific discussion.

Examination

Abstract/paper, talk and poster presentation.
