Mechanics and Vehicle Dynamics

Welcome to the Mechanics and Vehicle Dynamics Research Group’s website.

The Mechanics and Vehicle Dynamics Laboratory focuses on issues related to vehicle mechanics and dynamics. There, students can gain hands-on experience in the interaction of forces and motion. In particular, the goal is to predict the effects of modifications to the vehicle. Ten CarMaker licenses are available, as well as measurement equipment that can be used to verify simulation results and determine forces.

Vehicle Dynamics

Laboratory

The Laboratory for Mechanics and Vehicle Dynamics analyzes the forces acting on moving vehicles. In addition to the “CarMaker” (IPG) vehicle dynamics simulation software, measurement technology based on strain gauge sensors is available. This allows forces occurring during road tests to be predicted (simulation) and measured.
